Podcasting is a great way for students to experience a book! Students can listen to a reading of a book that includes sound effects and music. They can also follow along if they have a copy of the book. Some podcasts include cues to alert students when it is time to turn the page. Hearing the voices of the characters and different sounds help make the book come alive. It provides a completely different approach to reading. It is also an excellent way to reach out to auditory learners. English language learners can also benefit from listening to a podcast and following along with a copy of the book because they will be able to see and hear the words at the same time.

Creating a podcast is also a lot of fun. It is a great way to express creativity by changing voices and adding sound effects and music. There are so many different sounds and songs to choose from that each podcast is really unique.

The podcast I helped create below is based on the book The People Who Hugged The Trees.
